Senior Python Engineer (backend focused), World Parts Direct
We are a high-volume automotive parts distribution business in Garland, Texas. This role owns and evolves Python systems that run inventory, internal processes, automations, reconciliations, vendor integrations, etc.
Location
Garland, TX (Hybrid). Candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance to our Garland office and be able to be onsite regularly.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain Python services and automation for inventory tracking, order processing, ERP/WMS integrations, data pipelines, and internal APIs.
- Lead projects end-to-end (design, implementation, deployment, code review).
- Improve reliability, performance, and security in high-throughput systems.
- Troubleshoot production issues quickly and reduce repeat incidents.

Python powers our core automations, backend services, data pipelines, and integrations that move orders through high-volume fulfillment.

What we're looking for
- 5+ years professional software engineering experience, strong Python backend.
- Experience with FastAPI or Litestar, Pandas, SQLAlchemy, and relational DBs (MariaDB/PostgreSQL or similar).
- Track record building scalable systems for data-heavy or transaction-heavy workloads (e-commerce, inventory, distribution, supply chain a plus).
- Comfortable owning technical direction in small-to-mid teams.
- US citizenship required (no visa sponsorship available).
- Must be local to DFW for reliable hybrid attendance.
Bonus
- AWS or Azure, message queues (RabbitMQ/Kafka), ERP integrations, or supply-chain tooling.
