The PLS-CADD Design Engineer will be responsible for the detailed engineering design of overhead transmission and/or distribution lines using PLS-CADD. This role involves developing accurate line models, preparing construction-ready deliverables, and supporting project execution in compliance with applicable industry standards and client requirements.
Requirement
Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in PLS-CADD modeling for overhead transmission and/or distribution lines.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and refine PLS-CADD models based on client requirements, including route finalization, constraint identification, M4 model creation, wire stringing, and structural analysis.
Prepare complete construction packages, including plan profiles, structure drawings, and supporting documentation.
Provide real-time support for construction issues, offering technical guidance and model adjustments as needed.
Ensure all designs adhere to relevant standards such as ASCE 74, ASCE 48, and NESC codes.
Collaborate with project teams on geotechnical assessments, sag-tension calculations, and optimization.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AutoCAD, Python/AutoLISP automation for CAD workflows.
- Background in gen-tie projects or monopole/lattice tower design
